Women’s Day Marked by Empowerment in Potka

YUVA celebrates International Women’s Day with focus on women’s economic empowerment and social evils

Potka’s Women’s Day event champions economic empowerment and calls for an end to social injustices.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Potka football ground was the venue for a spirited International Women’s Day celebration, organized by Youth Unity for Voluntary Action in collaboration with Comic Relief, Kriya Delhi.

Block Development Officer Abhay Kumar Dwivedi graced the event as the chief guest, emphasizing the economic empowerment of women.

Special guests included Zilla Parishad member Sona Muni Sardar and leaders from various local governing bodies.

The ceremony recognized two female village heads among others for their contributions.

Dwivedi urged for collective action against social evils and highlighted government initiatives supporting women.

Youth Secretary Barnali Chakraborty discussed the significance of Women’s Day and condemned witchcraft accusations.

The event also touched on the need for accessible public facilities for the disabled.

Pano Sardar advocated for self-awareness among women to combat child marriage.

Sona Muni Sardar encouraged women’s participation across all sectors and activism against violence.

Surjit Sardar emphasized equal educational opportunities for all genders.

Youth organization honored influential female and young community members.

The event included presentations and cultural performances by adolescent girls.
