Akshay Khullar Appointed VP, Peeyush Gupta Redesignated at Tata Steel

Tata Steel’s recent leadership shuffle includes Akshay Khullar’s appointment as VP-Engineering & Projects and Peeyush Gupta’s new role, signaling strategic corporate moves.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant corporate restructuring, Tata Steel has announced the superannuation of Avneesh Gupta, the current Vice President – TQM and Engineering & Projects.

Effective from February 1, 2024, Gupta’s retirement concludes an impressive tenure spanning over 37 years with the company.

This transition paves the way for Akshay Khullar, who will step into the role of Vice President – Engineering & Projects.

Khullar’s appointment, effective February 1, 2024, is in line with Tata Steel’s succession planning for its senior management personnel.

In a recent regulatory filing, the company revealed this strategic appointment, marking a new chapter in its leadership dynamics.

Concurrently, Peeyush Gupta, who is presently overseeing Group Strategic Procurement and Supply Chain, will expand his responsibilities.

From February 1, 2024, Gupta will take on the additional role of leading the Total Quality Management (TQM) function at Tata Steel.

The company has also re-designated Gupta as the Vice President – TQM, Group Strategic Procurement and Supply Chain, reflecting his expanded portfolio.

These leadership changes come as part of Tata Steel’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its executive team and drive corporate growth.
