Colin Jackson, the world champion hurdler, set to inspire participants as the International Ambassador for Tata Steel Kolkata 25K 2023.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Tata Steel Kolkata 25K (TSK 25K) event, scheduled for 17th December 2023, has proudly announced Colin Jackson, the former 110m hurdles world record holder, as its International Ambassador.

Jackson’s role is a testament to the event’s growing stature, which began in 2014 and is now recognized as a World Athletics Elite Label Road Race.

His presence is expected to enhance the ‘Aamar Kolkata, Aamar Run’ initiative, drawing in more participants and highlighting Kolkata’s dynamic sports culture.

Colin Jackson shared his passion for running, emphasizing its power to unite communities and promote holistic well-being.

He reflects on how running shaped his life, both professionally and personally, and encourages everyone to embrace it as part of their lifestyle.

Chanakya Chaudhary of Tata Steel expressed excitement about Jackson’s participation, citing his inspiring career achievements in hurdling.

Jackson’s illustrious career includes a gold medal at the 1993 Stuttgart World Championships and a consistent winning streak at the European Championships.

His world records in the 110m and 60m hurdles stood for over a decade, a testament to his athletic prowess.

Post-retirement, Jackson ventured into diverse fields, including authoring books and sports commentary, showcasing his adaptability.

His initiatives like Go Dad Run, co-founded with his sister, focus on raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer.

Tata Steel’s commitment to promoting health and community spirit through events like the TSK 25K and Jamshedpur Run-a-thon is evident in the widespread participation these events attract.

Vivek Singh from Procam International lauded Jackson’s determination and spirit, anticipating his motivational impact on the TSK 25K participants.

Registrations for Tata Steel Kolkata 25K categories like 10K, Ananda Run (4.5 km), Silver Run (2.3 km), and Champions with Disability (2.3 km) — will remain open until November 26, IST 11:59 p.m., or till running places are filled, whichever is earlier, at tatasteelkolkata25k.procam.in/
