Tata Steel employees compete in the Inter-JDC Badminton Tournament at Mohan Ahuja Training Center, showcasing sportsmanship and talent.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Inter-JDC Badminton Tournament concluded with a demonstration of Tata Steel’s commitment to fostering sports and building camaraderie among its employees.
Participants in the event were given a unique opportunity to show off their shuttlecock skills and instill a spirit of healthy competition.
Illustrious technical officials including Vivek Sharma, Ashutosh Akash, Santu Kumar Sharma, Dhiren Besra, Kirtan Agarwal, Imran Khan, and Taran excellently executed their responsibilities, adding to the success of the competition.
The Coke Plant team finished as the second runner-up, while the Sinter Plant team came in second in the Women’s category.
Mechanical Maintenance won the Women’s category, displaying superb talent and sportsmanship.
In the Men’s division, Team LD3 secured first place, and Team LD1 claimed second, with the combined team of Engineering & Project, Finance & Account, Corporate Audit, and Design Cell finishing as the second runner-up.
With a record-breaking turnout of over 225 participants, the event saw the largest number of contenders in the history of the badminton competition.
A total of 31 JDC Units from Tata Steel took part in the competition with great enthusiasm.
Major Anil Kumar, Head of Town Security, graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest at the Mohan Ahuja Badminton Training Center in the JRD Tata Sports Complex, where the tournament was held from August 8 to August 11.
