JCAPCPL and Tata Steel Foundation Collaborate for Sustainable Community Development

JCAPCPL and Tata Steel Foundation sign MoU for community upliftment and environment sustainability through various programmes.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a bid to foster transformation and sustainable community development, Jamshedpur Continuous Annealing & Processing Company Private Limited (JCAPCPL) and Tata Steel Foundation have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The strategic partnership aims to address pressing social issues and drive change through several activities.

The MoU was signed by Ujjal Chakraborti, Managing Director of JCAPCPL, and Sourav Roy, Chief Executive Officer of Tata Steel Foundation, marking the commencement of the implementation process.

Ujjal Chakraborti expressed delight over partnering with Tata Steel Foundation in their mission to create a more equitable and sustainable society. "We believe that by pooling our resources and knowledge, there is significant potential for transformative change. This engagement with Tata Steel Foundation helps strike a balance for our workforce between work and their social responsibility commitment," Chakraborti explained.

The MoU encompasses programmes such as "Sabal," "Masti Ki Pathshala," "Integrated Pond Farming," "Ecokari," which transmutes plastic waste into useful products, and "Golf for underprivileged and poor children." These diverse initiatives target women empowerment, community development, environmental sustainability, health and sanitation, livelihood enhancement, and education.

Speaking at the event, Sourav Roy, CEO of Tata Steel Foundation, said, "We are excited to collaborate with JCAPCPL, an organization that aligns with our goal of strengthening communities. We are confident that our association will bring positive transformation and a brighter future for the disadvantaged and marginalized."
