JAMSHEDPUR – As the first Monday of Sawan dawned, enthusiasm overflowed among the devotees in Jamshedpur and its neighboring areas.
Pagodas have been witnessing a surge of visitors since the early morning.
The significance of Mondays in Sawan is reinforced by a plethora of religious beliefs and mythological anecdotes.
This Sawan season extends over two months, providing devotees with eight special Mondays to offer prayers to Lord Shiva.
From the break of dawn, devotees were observed performing ‘Jalabhishek’ – the ritual of anointing Lord Shiva with water.
Upon reaching the pagodas, they offered water to Lord Bholenath, embodied in the Shivling, with prayers for the happiness and prosperity of their loved ones and family members.
