Jamshedpur – Locals in the Bhuiyandih Litti Chowk area, along with the district BJP president Gunjan Yadav, have voiced their opposition against Tata Steel’s move to construct a boundary around a local parking lot.

The parking lot in question, located near Bhuiandih Litti Chowk of Jamshedpur, was in the process of being barricaded by Tata Steel, a move which has sparked controversy among the local community. The district BJP president, Gunjan Yadav, joined the residents on site, bringing the construction work to a halt.

Yadav explained that this land was formerly known as the parking lot of BOC Company, before being acquired by Tata Steel. The area in question has been traditionally used for various religious rituals and festivals, including Durga Puja and Ram Navami.

The BJP leader expressed concern that Tata Steel’s move to barricade the area would disrupt these community rituals. He pointed out that the company had previously discussed this issue with the local community and promised to provide a 200 ft x 200 ft plot for religious and other communal purposes.

According to Yadav, Tata Steel had also committed to beautifying the area before handing it over to the residents. However, the company has allegedly started the barricading work without fulfilling these promises, a move which has drawn criticism from the local residents.

Yadav, upon reaching the site, stated that the construction work would not be allowed to proceed until the company honors its commitment to provide a space for the community’s religious rituals.
