Libya’s coast guard recovered the bodies of 57 migrants from the coast of Libya in the Mediterranean Sea.
Most of them are citizens of Pakistan, Syria and Egypt.
The casualties occurred when two boats carrying migrants sank. After the boat sinking, these bodies were washed up on the shores of various cities in the western part of Libya.
Later these bodies were recovered. Children are among the dead.

und for Europe at 2 a.m. local time on Tuesday, a survivor aboard said. Later, as the boat continues to sink, an argument ensues. However, the person in charge of the boat refused to stop the boat.
Coast Guard officer Fathi al-Zayani said 11 bodies, including a child, were recovered from Karabulli in East Tripoli. The dead refugees are citizens of Pakistan, Syria, Tunisia and Egypt.
A Red Crescent relief worker stationed in Sabratha, West Tripoli said that they have recovered 46 bodies from the seashore in the last 6 days. All the dead were passengers on the same boat and ‘illegal immigrants’.
This relief worker also expressed fear that more bodies may float in the coming days.
The International Organization for Migration said this month that 441 migrants and refugees have drowned so far in 2023 while crossing the Mediterranean from North Africa to Europe.
This is the highest number of deaths in 3 months in the last six years.
