Jamshedpur: Unknown thieves targeted a Gurudwara and an adjoining Mandir at Bagbera Sido-Kanhu Maidan area and escaped with cash from the donation box of Gurudwara and ghanti, utensils and lamps from the Mandir. The incident has caused outrage in the area and locals are unhappy with the policing arrangements in the area.
The incidents of thieves targeting mandirs have been on the rise in the recent years in Jamshedpur.
The Gurudwara and temple at Sido-Kanhu Maidan, under Bagbeda police station, were targeted in the most recent theft episode.

Unidentified burglars removed the latch from the Gurdwara’s main gate and took the donation box that was kept there.
As the Gurdwara Management Committee members arrived to open the Gurdwara in the morning, they learned about the theft.
The donation box was missing, and the rear gate was wide open.
The committee claims that the donation box, which may be having about 35 to 40 thousand rupees, is opened during the Vaishakhi celebration.
The burglars also took the light, utensils, and bell from the adjoining mandir.

Residents have voiced displeasure over the event and worry about the security of their places of of worship.
The event has been reported to the Bagbera police station, however following the occurrence, concerns have been raised concerning the police’s efficacy.
To stop future occurrences of this kind, the populace is calling for immediate action and stronger security measures.
