Tata Steel Mining Bags National Convention on Quality Concept awards

Jamshedpur: Tata Steel Mining Limited (TSML) has been awarded at the 36th National Convention on Quality Concept (NCQC) held at Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Executives of the Company representing two teams, Team Sanjeevani and Team Jagruti have bagged Par Excellence and Excellence Awards respectively.

Team Sanjeevani from Sukinda Chromite Mine demonstrated Kaizens, Total Productivity Maintenance (TPM), safety at the workplace through models on remote dewatering from the mine. Similarly, team Jagruti of Ferro Alloys Plant, Athagarh presented case study on spillage reduction during operations.

Pankaj Satija, Managing Director, TSML, said, “Applying the concepts of Quality Management in operation has always inspired the employees to take responsibility and ownership to find out solutions for process improvements in their respective areas of work to meet customer and regulatory requirements and improve overall effectiveness on a continuous basis.”

Earlier, both teams had won gold awards at 4th Chapter Convention on Quality Concept (CCQC), held at Bhubaneswar this year.

NCQC is organized by Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI). QCFI has been playing a significant role in skill development of people through education, training, propagation, demonstration and assistance for implementation of quality concepts in manufacturing and maintenance industries, service sector, education, health, rural areas, society etc., for about four decades in the national arena with the active support of 34 chapters, sub-chapters and centers spread across India.
