Imran threatens to dissolve the provincial assembly

Pakistan’s former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has threatened to dissolve two provincial assemblies.

PTI has been demanding early general elections in the country for several days. In continuation of this, they threatened to dissolve the two assemblies if the early elections are not held this time. Dawn’s news.

On Sunday, PTI’s top leader Fawad Chowdhury wrote on his Twitter that if the Pakistan government does not clarify its position on this issue by December 20, they will follow the extreme path.

Last month, Imran had urged the government to discuss the issue of early elections. But there was no response from the Shahbaz Sharif-led government to his call. The term of Shahbaz government will end in August 2023.

Pakistan has 4 provincial assemblies.

Meanwhile, PTI has threatened to dissolve the assemblies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces. Elections to these assemblies are held along with the general elections. But Imran demanded a fresh and transparent election by dissolving the assembly.

In April this year, Imran had to leave the Prime Ministership after losing the vote of confidence in the Parliament.
