Market bomb explosion kills 35 in Baghdad before Eid al-Adha

Desk: At least 35 persons were killed in an explosion that reportedly was caused in a Baghdad market on Monday.

According to news agencies, the dead included women and children too. Many shops were destroyed and at least 50 people have been reportedly injured in the blast.

No one has claimed responsibility for the blast yet.

The area is Shia Muslim dominated and this is the third such blast within a span of a few months.

Even last month a blast had killed at least 15 persons in Baghdad.

The blast was caused just a day before Eid al-Adha holiday when the market was teeming with customers who wanted to buy grocery.

In January last, more than 30 were killed in two suicide bombings in Baghdad.

ISIS has made several attacks and caused numerous explosions and blasts in Iraq in the past couple of years.

However, it has not yet claimed responsibility for this blast.
