Police action criticised as street children allege assault in front of Sakchi Mall

V2 Mall management denies any child was assaulted

Jamshedpur: Street children in Sakchi alleged assault by the staff members of a mall on Thursday as shops and malls remained crowded with Durga Puja shoppers.

Most of the shops and malls are full of shoppers and special arrangements have been made by the shops to attract customers.

Amid all this hullabaloo in Sakchi some street children alleged that they were assaulted by the staff members of V2 mall.

The street children created chaos too and complained that children were assaulted by the mall staff.

The police soon arrived there and took a number of street children to the police station, claiming that they were being taken for interrogation and investigation of their allegation of having been assaulted by the mall staff.

However, their one-sided action came for criticism from the bystanders.

On the other hand, V2 Mall management said that the staff members had only stopped the children from begging outside the shop as it was causing inconvenience to the customers. The mall management alleged that the children also threw stones at the mall. It denied that any child was beaten or assaulted by any of the staff members.
