Bengaluru: India has done a China on China last Saturday-Sunday night. Doing a fast tit for a tat, Indian Army troops have captured one very crucial and important strategic height on the Southern bank of Pangong Tso lake near Thakung, say some of the reports.
In a statement today China has asked India to withdraw troops claiming that India had “illegally crossed their shared border”.
The statement was issued by a China military spokesman.
Earlier, Indian Army had said in a statement that China troops had carried out military movements to alter the status quo on the border which its forces had thwarted.
The statements and counter-statements by Indian and Chinese military had sparked a spate of speculations. But now things are becoming clear as fresh reports claim that after waiting patiently for China troops to stick to the promises of withdrawal of troops made earlier and angered by their sly attempt to change the status quo position before the stand-off, Indian side decided to do a tit for tat and show some strength.
It seems that the Indian side may have succeeded in capturing some advantageous heights. China surely sounds very rattled going by the statements emanating from it.
Indian side is adamant on forcing Chinese side to vacate the territory it has retained even after agreeing to go back.
China has been taken aback by the sturdy response from India side.
As the news became known, the editor of China official mouthpiece Global Times confirmed what was already being reported.
