Covid-19 kills 5 on Saturday in Jamshedpur, city death toll 32 now

35 fresh cases in Jamshedpur, total infections 1301

Jamshedpur: Corona has killed 5 persons in Jamshedpur on Saturday taking the death toll for the city to 32. One person was from Seraikela-Kharsawan district and his death is not included in the city count.

First two deaths were reported from TMH, while the third death occurred in MGMCH. A 55-year-old person was brought to MGMCH with breathing problems. He was corona positive. He died during treatment. This was first death occurring in MGMCH.

Earlier, all serious patients were sent to TMH and only stable patients were kept at MGMCH and Tata Motors Hospital. Therefore, most deaths occurred at TMH.

The fourth patient who died at TMH was from Seraikela-Kharsawan and was a resident of Adityapur.

The 5th person who died during treatment in TMH was 60 years of age and had breathing difficulty. He was from Bagbera. He was admitted in the hospital on July 24th, Saturday. And he died late night on Saturday itself. He also had liver-related problems.

Several Covid-19 patients are being treated in TMH. A number of them are in a serious condition. Several others are also being treated in MGMCH and Telco Hospital.

Meanwhile, 35 more persons have tested positive for Covid-19 in East Singhbhum on Friday taking the total number of infections to 1301 now. 4 persons also died today in TMH and 1 in MGMCH taking the total death toll for the city to 32 as one belonged to Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

The newly positive cases are being admitted in the hospitals for treatment..

Meanwhile the administration has appealed to the people of the district to continue maintaining social distancing, not venture out of their houses unnecessarily and keep washing their hands regularly.

The state government has also made wearing of masks mandatory and has warned that those who do not wear mask in public would be penalised.
