Retired Joint Secretary Rohit Das’s house in Pakur robbed of valuables worth lakhs while family was away, police probe underway.

PAKUR – In a shocking incident, the ancestral home of retired Joint Secretary Rohit Das was burglarized late last Tuesday night.

This house, located on Pokharia Road under the jurisdiction of the Amdapada police station, has seen a theft of goods amounting to lakhs.

The family, who had been away in Ranchi for fifteen days, left the house unattended, providing the thieves with the perfect opportunity.

Upon their return, they found the locks on the four rooms and the entrance door broken.

Thieves had ransacked the house, breaking open lockers in five large and small almirahs.

Stolen items included gold and silver jewellery, expensive items, and two LCD televisions.

Upon receiving news of the theft, the son-in-law and daughter of the homeowner arrived in Amdapada and informed him about the incident.

The homeowner has since left Ranchi for Amdapada.

Meanwhile, an investigation into the incident has begun under the leadership of local in-charge Premchand Bhagat.
