13 Dance Troupes to Perform at Basanta Haat in Kolkata Feb 22

Hrital Dance Centre Organises Spring Dance Fest at Entally Hindu Balika Vidyamandir, Moulali

KOLKATA – Hrital Dance Centre is set to organise a spring-themed dance festival titled “Basanta Haat” on February 22, with 13 participating institutions and international television coverage reaching 15 countries.

The event will be held at Entally Hindu Balika Vidyamandir in Moulali, Kolkata, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Renowned creative dance artist Jaydeep Palit will guide and supervise the entire programme.

A total of 13 reputed dance academies and troupes from across Kolkata will be presenting group performances at the festival. The participating institutions and their directors are listed below:

The organisers have announced that entry to the programme will be free for all visitors. Meanwhile, a yellow dress code has been prescribed to reflect the colours and spirit of the spring season.

Selected highlights of the programme will be telecast internationally through California Television Global. The broadcast is expected to reach audiences across 15 countries.

“Basanta Haat is an effort to bring together the finest creative and classical dance forms under one roof,” said a representative of Hrital Dance Centre. “We want audiences everywhere, not just in India, to witness this celebration of spring.”

The festival is one of several dance events in Kolkata that have gained traction in recent months. Earlier events such as the Naman Kathak Festival drew 150 artists to the city. In addition, the Sarsuna Dance Academy had also hosted its annual festival in the city late last year.
