JAMSHEDPUR – JBVNL begins stringent recovery drive targeting electricity consumers with outstanding dues exceeding Rs 10,000.
Each branch must collect from 25 defaulters daily. “We prefer recovery over disconnection,” Ajit Kumar, General Manager said.
Payment Options
Defaulters can retain connections by paying 50% dues. Meanwhile, non-compliance will attract Rs 10,000 fine.
West Singhbhum leads with 11,000 defaulters. However, consumers can avoid penalties through prompt payments.
Financial Crisis
JBVNL’s losses have grown significantly since 2020. “Legal action will follow disconnection,” a senior official warned.
The corporation recorded Rs 7,400 crore loss in 2023-24. Moreover, immediate payment can prevent service disruption.
