Wildlife Week Kicks Off at Tata Steel Zoological Park

JAMSHEDPUR – The Tata Steel Zoological Park launched its Wildlife Week Celebrations 2024 on Gandhi Jayanti, emphasizing the importance of conservation.

Saba Alam Ansari, I.F.S., Divisional Forest Officer of Jamshedpur, inaugurated the event.

The celebrations will run from October 2 to October 6, 2024.

Dr. Manik Palit, Deputy Director of the zoo, delivered a welcome speech on conservation.

Moreover, Dr. Seema Rani, Program Coordinator, outlined the week’s scheduled events.

The inaugural day featured an On-the-Spot Painting Competition for students.

Two categories of students participated, focusing on wildlife-related themes.

A total of 116 participants from 15 schools took part in the competition.

Winners will be awarded during the closing ceremony on October 6, 2024.

Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mahato, Curator, expressed gratitude to all supporters of the event.

The zoo aims to raise awareness about wildlife conservation through these activities.

Furthermore, an Interschool Debate Competition is scheduled for tomorrow.

The debate will take place at the Old Natural Education Center in Tata Zoo.

Zoo staff, volunteers from Tata Steel Foundation, and school teachers attended the inauguration.

Dr. Naim Akhtar, Deputy Director of Tata Zoo, was also present at the event.

The week-long program seeks to engage students in wildlife conservation issues.

Organizers hope to inspire young minds to contribute to environmental protection.

The celebrations highlight the zoo’s role in education and conservation efforts.
