Railway Employee Welfare Association opens new testing facility
A free blood sugar and blood pressure testing centre was inaugurated in Carriage Colony to mark the occasion of Bhagwan Jagannath’s Rath Yatra.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a welcome move, a new testing centre for blood sugar and blood pressure was inaugurated in Carriage Colony under the Railway Employee Welfare Association on the auspicious occasion of Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra.
The centre was inaugurated by none other than the association’s chairman, Manoj Mishra.
The event saw the presence of Dr. Gurumukh Singh, senior engineer Amar Singh Majhi, RP Gupta, and JE Rahul Kumar.
Manoj Mishra announced that the centre would use a digital random machine to conduct free tests every Sunday from 9 am to 11 am at the organization’s office in Carriage Colony.
Hundreds of local men and women participated in the testing program and got their BP and sugar levels checked.
The testing program was supervised by Dr. Gurmukh Singh, who emphasized the need for such centres in every locality due to the rising cases of diabetes.
Amar Singh Majhi and RP Gupta also addressed the gathering.
Several members, including SP Vishwas, Jairam Prajapati, Rakesh Kumar, AK Mahato, Vikas Thakur, Bablu Rao, Shiva, and Lochan Bari, contributed to ensure the success of the program.
“We need such initiatives to combat the increasing incidence of diabetes,” said Dr. Gurmukh Singh speaking on the occasion.
