First Annual Sports Competition of Jamshedpur Women’s University Lauded by DM
DM Manjunath Bhajantri Encourages Young Women Athletes at JRD Tata Sports Complex
JAMSHEDPUR – District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Mr. Manjunath Bhajantri was the chief guest at the first annual sports competition of Jamshedpur Women’s University – 2023.
The event took place at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
During the event, Mr. Bhajantri took the salute of the march past.
He honored young women players who have showcased their talent nationally and internationally.
Vice Chancellor of Jamshedpur Women’s University, Prof. Anjila Gupta, was present.
Sports coach Hasan Imam, Registrar Rajendra Jaiswal, and the Chairman of Sports also attended.
Other professors and students of the university were present at the event.
Mr. Bhajantri expressed his pleasure at addressing the young talents.
He emphasized the role of youth and students in shaping the future of the country, state, and society.
Mr. Bhajantri encouraged participation in sports for physical and mental health benefits.
He stressed that sportsmanship teaches positive handling of victory and defeat.
The DM highlighted the natural sports talent in Jharkhand’s youth.
Government initiatives for the economic and social upliftment of players were mentioned.
These initiatives include direct government job appointments for medal winners and organizing sports competitions up to Panchayat and Block levels.
