Workshop organised at Ravindra Bhawan, Sakchi on World Mental Health Day

Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar attended as Chief Guest

Jamshedpur: A workshop was organised today at Ravindra Bhawan, Sakchi on the occasion of World Mental Health Day.

Deputy Commissioner Mr. Suraj Kumar attended the program as the Chief Guest. The Deputy Commissioner expressed gratitude to all the doctors and health workers on behalf of the district administration for their contribution in the Corona period. He said that the way all have contributed to the prevention and treatment of Corona infection by doing team work in limited resources is laudable.

He advised them to stay firm in the time of crisis. He said that if they all kept their your courage high, big difficulties can easily be overcome.

Deputy Commissioner Mr. Suraj Kumar, giving example of family and workplace mental stress in people during the Corona period, said that it is necessary to identify the problem early. He said that the sooner we identify the symptoms of stress, the better.

He said that psychology was also a subject for him in UPSC. He said that counselling is important for mentally ill people. He said that we all have learnt a lot from this Corona period, we all have to stay active and positive in our lives. It’s time to defeat challenges and become victorious.

Deputy Commissioner said that the beauty of bad times is that it also goes away.

Deputy Commissioner said that stress can be both psychological and physical. Good stress is necessary for a good performance, but if the stress is excessive, it is fatal. He said that the subject of mental stress was very little discussed before the Corona period, but in the last six months, the way Corona has affected people’s minds and bodies, it becomes necessary that people discuss it openly.

He advised everyone to share problems. The Deputy Commissioner said that everyone should all take this pledge to maintain positive energy even in difficult situations.

The Civil surgeon Dr. R. N. Jha said there is no definition of stress. Corona has hit people’s physical condition as well as mental condition.

Various reasons for tension and measures to deal with it were discussed through presentation by Dr. Deepak Giri.

He said that anything that’s spoiling our life balance is stress. Stress is also good or bad – if people do not have a little tension during the corona period, they do not wear masks or use sanitiser and other protective measures. It is important to know how positive our body and mind behave in a stressful situation.

District Public Relations Officer Mr. Rohit Kumar, Dr. BN Usha and other doctors and staff participated in the workshop.
