Corona takes two more lives in Jamshedpur, death toll now 26

Jamshedpur: Corona fury has started unfolding on the city. It has taken two more lives in Jamshedpur on Friday taking the total death toll for the city to 26.

Meanwhile, there are indications that community transmission has indeed begun in the city, though still not acknowledged by the government.

However, the district administration is aware of the worsening situation and is preparing for tougher days ahead.

Today the DC appealed to the private medical practitioners and paramedics to register themselves with the district administration for providing services.

During the last seven days, around 90 percent of the patients have had no travel history and this indicates that community transmission has started happening as feared earlier.

People with having no travel history or any contact with any positive person too are now turning positive.

Several such people have died too.

Till date, 24 people have died of Covid-19 in TMH and MGMCH. Only a few of these people had a travel history.
